THE STORY

The idea for DIVINITY SCHOOL came to me quite a while ago. At the time it came to me there was so much going on in my life I couldn't imagine finding the time to fit in one more thing into my hectic schedule, no matter how good an idea it was. It was going to have to go the way of all my brilliant but timely ideas that have never seen the light of day... or did it? Some inspirations are so persistent, and this one haunted me for two years! When I finally had the flexibility to add a fun project into my life, I resurrected this beauty, polished her off and asked around to all my smart and chic friends whether they liked my idea for constellation t-shirts made with rhinestones. I always elaborated (much to some people's chagrin) by insisting that I was going to make them exactly like they appeared in the sky charts... no artistic license allowed, and I was even going to use different sized rhinestones to match the apparent brightness (how bright the star "appears" in the sky to us from earth) of each star in each constellation. My Columbia physics professor would have been proud! And the response, despite my lengthy explanation, was unanimously positive. So now I'm placing these beauties in the category of "timeless".

I was going to do all sorts of different familiar and unfamiliar constellations, because some of them are so lovely... but in the end I chose the constellations of the zodiac because I felt like people could relate to them and would definitely want to wear their own sign, or give them away as gifts. I am open to doing special orders, if anyone has a special request for a particular constellation not in the zodiac.
